About the CLUB

What we offer, our classes, how to join, club fees, and a brief history of our club.

What we offer
At Coningsby & Bourne Kart Club we stage up to 14 race meetings throughout the year on both grass and shale 'dirt' surfaces. Our grass racing season starts in April and runs through to October and our shale series from November to April.

Our club is purely for owner-drivers, unfortunately we do not hire karts out.

Our club offers probably the cheapest form of motorsport around, with karts typically being available for under £1000.00 (and competitive ones too!!!). These are usually available for sale on popular social media and auction sites, and sometimes at race meeting themselves.

This is excellent for beginners/novices, families, and racers that want to just have fun without the pressures that you get racing higher up the motorsport pyramid.

Our racing classes

Grass karts are derived from 'standard' road karts. They use the same chassis, seat, steering, pedals etc but with a few alterations. These include a purpose built roll bar (in case of accidents) is attached to back in place of the usual rear bumper and the wheels are changed to the 6" ride-mower type with grass tyres.

For juniors (7-15 years old) we have 70cc, 90cc,125cc and 160cc (Cadet) 4 stroke classes. For seniors (16years old+) there is 125cc and 250cc 4 strokes and 125cc and 250cc 2 strokes. We have recently introduced twin engine ProKart classes for both juniors and seniors too.

History
Coningsby and Bourne Kart Club was formed in 2021 when two long established (50 years+ each) clubs merged together. Both clubs had previously staged their own grass track meetings in the summer and shared the road racing venue at East Kirkby. Coningsby held a winter series and Bourne in the summer.
This is proper grass roots motorsport with many drivers starting their careers here. Some only race with us, whilst others will move on in to other formula such as long circuit karting, oval racing, or motorcycling.

The club(s) are and always have been run entirely by volunteers, most of whom still race or have raced at some point in their lives. We are always on the lookout for more volunteers to help us. It doesn't matter whether you have any experience or not, all you need is to be madly interested in motor racing!!! Being part of our team is great way of breaking in to the sport, you make new friends and have a great time!!!
